Recently, I found a Facebook page and some users posting my drum sheet music and exercises without permission, cropping or removing my name and website. This misattributes my work and violates intellectual property rights. My educational materials are registered, copyrighted, and protected under Meta’s Brand Rights Protection.
I’m always happy when you share my content as a sign of support and appreciation—but not in this way.
Thanks to Meta’s prompt action, that page called “Heavysticks” has been taken down. I’m fairly certain it was connected to another network of drum pages from Nigeria, with fake followers and AI-generated content. Many thanks to my blog followers who took the time to report it.
The same applies to users who shared my content without authorization in Facebook groups, leading to the removal of their posts and comments. I didn’t expect such a fast response from Meta, and I’m genuinely satisfied with the outcome.
Next time, I’ll probably consider taking legal action. Forgive my firm, slightly threatening tone—it was necessary!
