Today I’ll share the transcription of the drum trading fours on “Take the ‘A’ Train” by Clifford Brown & Max Roach, from the album Study in Brown (1955). In the A section, Max Roach alternates between 4 bars of time and 4 bars of drum break, while he performs a full drum break on the bridge. The tempo of the tune is approximately 290 bpm.
