Here’s the full drum transcription for “Along Came Betty” by Mark Murphy, from the album Beauty And The Beast (1987) with Joey Baron on drums.
The tune is a famous standard composed by Benny Golson. In this version, Joey Baron plays the head section with brushes, and at the beginning of the solo section, he changes to sticks. I think Joey plays the bass drum on the quarter notes very lightly, it’s not audible but he feathers the bass drum from the beginning of the tune.
The interesting part is the interlude when he plays a solo over the melody using a lot of press rolls, phrases based on 8th notes, and a remarkable Elvin Jones phrase (the single stroke roll around the snare, tom, and floor tom at the end of the interlude).
